embrace your inner child

About

hanabada days: During the age of youth. Young childhood. When you were a child and you had boogers dripping down your nose.

We are blessed to live in beautiful Hawaii nei, and there is a saying here that is used to describe your childhood days. These are called your “Hanabada Days” - the days of your youth.

It’s been a few years since we got started and we’ve had time to reflect on our brand. Hanabada Days is about connecting with your inner child. What brings you joy. Be it bright colors, funky jewelry, slimy fish, or crystals still covered in dry mud - strive to enjoy your time. Life is too short to take so seriously. Embrace your inner child and give yourself some love.

We are a small, home-based family business consisting of mom, dad & two young boys. Our boys love to fish! They enjoy the “small kine” near-shore fishing, and are perfectly pleased if they catch or no catch. They just love to fish.

Hanabada Days began as most fun things begin, with messy art projects. We explored the ancient Japanese art of gyotaku, making fish prints of the fish the boys caught. This evolved to sewing & selling our fish pillows. Mom loves to dig crystals & make jewelry… so, our little Hanabada Days evolved into mostly jewelry & crystals, still yet with some pillows every now and then.

An important note - sustainability is very important to our ohana. Our boys take care to practice sustainable fishing, taking only what they need & will eat, and only fish of legal size. We work to keep the reefs & watershed clean and to be good stewards of our aina. Our crystals are mined by hand in Arkansas, our stones are carefully sourced.
